Meet the
Backup Doulas

Miriam Loksen

I’m Miriam Loksen, trained doula through DONA Intl., working towards my certification.
I grew up in Brooklyn, the second to youngest of a large family. I became an aunt by the age of 7 and between my close-knit community, friends and family, I grew up around lots of babies and birth talk. There was always something which drew me in, to listen to the birth talk conversations. I was fascinated by the female body and by the stories the women in my life shared about their birth experience. My sister having her first child was when it hit me that birth work was my calling.

Since recently moving to Buffalo with my husband, I’ve been privileged to meet Malissa and join her team.

I believe that each woman has the innate knowledge of how to birth, and I strive to empower women to understand their body, mind and soul. I want to enable women to tap into their intuitive wisdom and be able to have the birth experience they so desire!

I look forward to being a part of your journey.
